Sunset – Salt &Senses Restaurant is an established culinary business for more than 30 years, at the most iconic location of Hydra Island in the Saronic Gulf of Greece. Being awarded as one of the top restaurants in the world with the best view, this is a recognition of the hard work and effort that has been put into the business. Accordingly, we were assigned the design and construction of the new website that would follow a new menu, newly added culinary services, and an overall business renewal.
Our starting point was the production and direction of the photoshoot that would be incorporated in the new website and all the social media platforms. The end result was ethereal, understated classy, summery and first and foremost an accurate depiction of the restaurant, the staff, the food, the experience and of course the mesmerizing location. Following the specifications for the design of the new logo, the website would carry on the same illustrative and color elements, in a sleek and cohesive way. All the primary information is presented in a white backdrop, while the footer retains a black contrast. The free hand, curved line used in hero images and footer, depicts the island’s coastline and mountainous nature. Flowing artistic illustrations contradict yet also complement the modern photographic content as does the use of serif and sans serif typography. This duality brings visual interest to a sleek, minimal result. Smooth transitions and moving elements when hovering, facilitate the user experience in an understated manner.
